Penge CC Maintenance Course level 1

The Beginner course covers the basics of bike maintenance, from removing and replacing your own wheels, fixing a puncture, to replacing your brake blocks. It is suitable for the complete beginner to bike maintenance, as well as anyone wishing to brush up on their skills.

The course covers the following: Roadside puncture repair – removal of wheel and tyre M-Check (learning how to check that major components are safe and roadworthy, making minor adjustments) Removal and refitting of brake blocks, balancing brake calipers Principles of basic gear adjustment Checking chain tension Preventative care e.g. how to clean and lubricate parts of the bike Due to the limiting space this classes are limited to 10 members each with your own bike. More classes can will be arranged if required to meet demand.

Riding through our Winter can be harsh and will put an enormous strain on the drive train. 

How about allowing us to fully strip down the chain, cassette, derailleurs and gear cables.

We will Clean, re-lube, fit new gear cables and re-index your gears to enable you to ride through the winter whatever the weather throws at you.
